Camping with a baby?

So those of you who know Ben and I really well, know how much we love to travel and camp.  Once the baby is born we would like to keep up the tradition and start him off when he's young to get him used to it.  But we were thinking next year already, so he'd be 6 to 9 months.  But is that to soon or should we wait till he's closer to 15 to 18 months.  Then is it easier to do camping in a tent or in a camper/RV?  What do you all bring with out completely going over board.    Then again, going overboard to make sure you have all you need is probably a good thing.  Or should we try smaller like tenting in the backyard to start out with?

I know I should probably play it by ear, but with having 2 baby showers, yes 2 (one for my co-workers and one for family) I was thinking I could put some of the baby camping needs on the registries, or should those items be things that Ben and I buy ourselves.  As is I don't know if I have everything on my registries that I need to have, or if I'm lacking things. I mean I know I'm lacking some things, but with being a first time mother, it can be very overwhelming.  But God knew this was the time for the little one to come in to our lives and we will make it through this with His help and our family and friends!

Next appointment, under the belt

Today's appointment went pretty well.  My insulin numbers got raised slightly, but it's all for the good of the baby.  Next appointment is in 2 weeks, with another ultrasound to measure the baby's progress to see length and weight (possibly)  Right now his head is near my ribs, which might explain some of the cramping in that area.  Starting at 32 weeks I go every week because of the gestational diabetes.  There's also a chance that he really could be a September baby.  If I don't go into labor naturally I will be induced at 39 weeks.  But I think that is also dependent on how he is doing length and weight wise.  Ben and I are hoping that he can hold out till the 41st week which puts us right at the beginning of October.  Time will tell.

Blueberry

So as we continue to get ready for Blueberry, we have gotten a few things from a rummage sale, including a pack n' play for camping and a changing pad.  The painting is almost done on 2 of the walls, and I'm almost thinking of leaving it just those two walls, I haven't decided yet.  A little more cleaning and then we can get the crib which was the one big item we wanted to get ourselves.   I have 2 showers coming up in August.  One for co-workers and one for family and friends.  I just hope we have enough for both.
